@BrokenFixie turned me on to Wolfgang a while back. Chances are you have herd of him, he has been producing some awesome tracks like flashback and the 5th symphony remix. A few days ago (8/18/2009) Wolfgang Gartner dropped some new tracks on beatport. I grabbed both as quick as I could, and gave them a listen. The first track ‘Fire Power’ was GOOD but I was not super crazy about it. Unfortunately Mr. Gartner has set himself up with a very high water mark in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE heavy, fast, sawtooth, electro, fidget but it just did not “do” it for me. This song sounded like a robot trying to rebuild itself after it was hit by a spaceship. The only problem was the robot just never really gets finished. Instead it just kind of wiggles around on the ground making noises. The second song ‘Latin Fever’ is a really nice house track with a kind of minimal bouncy party vibe. This is the type of shit that sounded like a robot who could actually build itself -or- the type of shit they were rocking out to in the spaceship before they hit that first robot. Overall I think Wolfgang did an excellent job with these tracks, especially considering the EPIC quality of his previous work.
