Standing on the edge of summer

Photo courtesy of SPIN magazine, taken at the 2009 Ultra Music Festival

As we begin to ease into summer and the festival season, I decided to bring you some tracks that will have people going crazy for a long time. The first two involve MSTRKRFT’s JFK, who is well known for re editing some of the heaviest records out there, and these two are no exception. First we have Bird Peterson’s remix of it aint love, the first track on KRFT’s Fist of God LP. When I saw them last month I was completely floored by this remix, which drops as hard as Mr. Miyagi’s remix of Rackhunters.

It Ain’t Love (Bird Peterson Remix JFK Edit)

This next track is just relentless.

Alexander_Technique-Nightlovers(CCCremix_JFK_Edit)

Next up is a Deadmau5 edit of a Nathan Fake song. Good chill out prog house.

Nathan Fake – The Sky Was Pink (Deadmau5 Edit)- highly reccomended

My Current favorite track: The Presets- My People (D.I.M remix) -loving the drop past around the 5 minute mark.

Bonus Tracks:

Klaxons – Golden Skans to Interzone (So Me Remix)

The Chemical Brothers- The Salmon Dance (Herve remix)

Proxy- Raven (Crookers Remix)

Thomas Bangalter- Spinal Scratch

Bird Peterson – The Essence- Highly reccomended

So sit back, grab a glass of crown royal, relax, and prepare for the party season. If your in SF this week I suggest you head over to WISH on wed night for THE THREAD before moving on to Jokers Of The Scene @ Vessel. Also on the horizon is the ETD Pop festival in Daly City (Cow Palace), which will certainly be a crowd pleaser. Get your tickets early!

Cheers,

Craw!

P.S. look out for the first ever IRON DJ remix competition

Back Once Again with the Ill Behavior

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

After a short absence from the irondj community, I’m back with some new and old tracks that deserve to be on your next mix. First up are some tracks from my favorite Italian duo, The Bloody Beetroots. With their new EP Cornelius and tons of other remixes out in the past 6 months, the Bloody Beetroots have left a lasting mark on the scene, and have many anxious for their full length album to drop on Dim Mak Records. They are known for bringing a “punk sound” to electro music, and truly embrace the rockstar lifestyle. The following tracks are not as recent, but nonetheless deserve your attention.

The Bloody Beetroots- I Love the Bloody Beetroots (Highly recommended)

Etienne De Crecy – Funk (The Bloody Beetroots Remix)

The Bloody Beetroots – Fucked From Above 1985

The Bloody Beetroots – Rombo (dirty disco youth remix)

Shitdisco – 72 Virgins (Bloody Beetroots Remix)

MORE BBR TO COME!

Finally I have a grab bag of great tunes for you, including a Shinichi Osawa track remixed by the crookers, great remixes from vandalism & Deadmau5, and perhaps my favorite b-side of all time from MSTRKRFT

Shinichi Osawa- Rendezvous (Crookers remix)- Highly Recommended

DJ Jeroenski – Back Once Again (Vandalism Remix)

Daft Punk- Harder,Better,Faster, Stronger (Deadmau5 remix)

MSTRKRFT- Vu Vu Vu- Highly Recommended

Enjoy!

Craw

ALSO: don’t forget to make it down to Namu this saturday to check out Iron Dj’s own Spinnerty and The Librarian. Also, take a minute to pop over to IRON DJ on myspace, and tell all your friends!
